MDU Sales Specialist

Description Date Revised: June 2026 Job Title: MDU Sales Specialist Classification: Salary, Exempt. POSITION SUMMARY The MDU Sales Specialist is responsible for identifying revenue generating opportunities for the company by visiting new and existing Multi Dwelling customers. This position is primarily outside sales and will work closely with department managers in aligning business opportunities in their respective areas. REPORTS TO Sales Supervisor SUPERVISES No direct reports May lead, train, or participate in work team assignments ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Generate new sales with MDU customers within Joink Fiber Network. Prepare offers/agreements to approach Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) owners and property management staff to negotiate entry and service to residents. Responsible for sales funnel and hitting targets assigned by management. Engage with marketing on sales, strategies, and events. Engage in sales outside the office up to 80% of the time, selling commissionable items at agreed upon rates. Follow through on all customer requests, acting as lead for preparing written proposals. Act as a technical representative during initial contact with customers. Driving duties include conveying materials, equipment, and staff to and from work sites. Travel to properties and engage with owners, managers, and customers to perform. Perform site visits and capture required photographs and information for planning purposes. Maintains positive relationships with customers, answering questions as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor. Ability to convey technical knowledge in an understandable way, including making presentations to various groups. Exceptional customer service skills. Ability to evaluate situations and adjust to changing priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software. Ability to learn CRM software and utilize other relevant sales tools. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or Equivalent. 2+ years’ business-to-business experience or equivalent. Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute) Candidates with the following will have priority: Bachelor’s degree in related field WORKING ENVIRONMENT 40 hours per week Office Environment Occasional overtime as needed PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
