School Aide - Path to CDL

Rolling V Bus Corp Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) PATH Program The program offers an opportunity to earn and learn by working as a School Bus Aide while preparing to become a licensed school bus driver. This structured program provides a pathway to higher earning potential and flexibility once licensed. Program Details Program Structure: Classes every 8 weeks. Company provides classroom time for CDL permit and vehicle/behind-the-wheel training for road test. Starting Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour for both work and training time. Increases to $20.00 per hour upon obtaining the CDL permit. Program Schedule: 2‑hour midday sessions planned to avoid conflicts with bus aide work. Additional Hours: Access to late runs, midday, or charter trip assignments. Job Responsibilities Transport children safely following a fixed daily schedule. Engage cooperatively with parents/guardians, school officials, and coworkers. Complete regulatory reports and other required documentation. Job Requirements Completion of job application and new hire packet, including NYS and federal documents and background check. Valid identification and residential history. Authorization for background check and pre‑employment testing (physical and drug/alcohol). Physical ability to climb and descend bus steps, exit quickly, use rear emergency door, and carry/drag 125 lb weight. Demonstrate physical performance test and participate in paid six‑hour pre‑service training. Possess communication and writing skills for regulatory reports.
