Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with Ippolitos' recipes, quality standards, food safety regulations, and kitchen procedures. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen while ensuring costumers receive high-quality meals in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and supplies.
Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food safety regulations.
Monitor food quality and report any issues to kitchen management.
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and preparation areas clean and organized.
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Follow opening, closing, and cleaning procedures.
Assist with food preparation and other kitchen duties as assigned.
Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance while working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to work in varying kitchen temperatures, including hot and cold environments.

Work Environment

Fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
Evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime hours may be required based on business needs.
Exposure to kitchen equipment, knives, hot surfaces, and food preparation machinery.
