About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to join its Public Engagement Unit. The CSO will be responsible for analyzing the results of outreach campaigns, setting and refining goals, and continuously improving the effectiveness of connecting New Yorkers with essential services. This role is pivotal in helping the outreach teams reach more individuals and families, particularly those in need of the services provided by the Department of Social Services. The successful candidate will be a central contributor to the Executive Team, a key thought partner to the Executive Director, and will work closely with external partners, including various city agencies. Candidates for the CSO position should have a baccalaureate degree in a relevant field and at least 4 years of experience in management, operations, or a related area, with a focus on person-to-person outreach. The role requires a deep understanding of outreach strategies, including door-knocking, phone banking, and other direct engagement methods. Experience in a complex environment, such as city government or large bureaucracies, is highly valued. The CSO must be adept at running meetings, building relationships with diverse stakeholders, and synthesizing data to create effective outreach strategies. The position is all about helping the company stand as an example of public excellence, and the CSO will play a key role in managing partnerships and capturing outcome data to ensure the continuous improvement of the outreach efforts.
