Summary of Responsibilities: This position works collaboratively and under the direction of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for assistance to the therapeutic team as directed by the Clinical Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to facilitating discharge planning helping clients make appointments, maintaining contact with alumni and making outreach calls to alumni. Also communicating with referral sources about continuing care and appointments and being available for client(s) and therapists, including group coverage when needed. Employee may perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director but does not perform independently when exercising clinical decisions.

Supervision and Coordination of Services: This position is required to work collaboratively and frequently with all members of the clinical team and ancillary staff. This position is supervised by the Program Director and Clinical Director.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Abilities Required: Must possess the cognitive and emotional ability to deal effectively with multiple stressors, deadlines, and difficult situations and/or clients. Interpersonal communication skills necessary for effective, nonjudgmental, and empathetic client care. Able to hear normal conversation/tones and meet the physical requirements of the position. Must have good command of the English language and professional writing skills.

Education and Experience: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of three (3) years experience in addictions and/or eating disorder treatment setting. Experience may be substituted for education if documented, justified, and approved by the CEO. Certification in CPR, First Aid, Control of Aggression, and HIV education within six months of hire. Current Florida Driver’s License. Employee is expected to maintain knowledge, skills and abilities through ongoing education. In addition, the employee is required to attend all mandatory in-services as required and/or assigned.

Primary Contacts: Frequent interaction with coworkers and ancillary staff. Frequent interaction with clients and intermittent contact with client support systems, referral sources, insurance providers, and outside therapeutic resources as appropriate to help facilitate provision of care or services as directed by the primary therapist, Program Director and/or Clinical Director. Periodic interaction with site visitors. Periodic interface with regulatory and accrediting bodies.

Work Environment: This is a full-time, exempt position as assigned by the Program Director and/or Clinical Director. Turning Point of Tampa is a drug-free workplace, therefore employee must maintain compliance with this policy. Ability to operate common office equipment (fax machine, copier, telephone, pager, and cell phone, computers). Ability to operate company vehicles is required. Air conditioned and/or heated office setting, and/or outside conditions as required.

Ability to move frequently is required in the delivery of client care. Visual acuity is needed for accurate reading of client charts. Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 20 lbs and occasional lifting and carrying of up to 100 lbs is required. Ability to work in an environment with moderate to high noise levels, where chemicals may be used for cleaning, and where dust may be generated due to housekeeping tasks. Ability to work at a rapid pace and tolerate a variety of repetitive tasks.
