Job Summary

We are seeking a Civil Associate Engineering Technician - Solar to support engineering and design teams in developing high-quality technical deliverables for complex solar infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for preparing and modifying site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts using industry-standard design software while applying civil engineering principles to deliver accurate and efficient project solutions.

Job Description

• Support engineering teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables under close supervision
• Prepare and modify site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts using Autodesk Civil 3D, PVcase, and PV Farm
• Apply engineering principles and established design practices to support civil engineering design activities
• Utilize CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software to create, update, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
• Perform basic engineering calculations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
• Coordinate project deliverables with other engineering disciplines to minimize errors and design conflicts
• Apply quality standards, document control practices, and applicable engineering codes to project deliverables
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by utilizing new technologies and engineering processes
• Assist in meeting internal and external project requirements while maintaining accuracy and quality
• Begin providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians

Skills Required

• Minimum of 2 years of related civil engineering technician experience
• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
• Experience with Civil 3D grading
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D
• Experience using CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software
• Knowledge of civil engineering design principles, drafting standards, and engineering documentation
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and material quantity estimates
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Solar project experience preferred
• Experience with PVcase and PV Farm software preferred

Education/Training/Certifications

• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field preferred.
