Position SummaryComprehensive Pain and Spine Specialists, LLC is seeking a dependable, motivated, and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our growing Interventional Pain Management practice.
This full-time position plays an important role in supporting physicians during C-arm fluoroscopy-guided interventional pain procedures while also assisting with clinical and basic administrative responsibilities to support efficient patient care and daily practice operations.
Our practice is fast-paced, high-volume, and highly team-oriented. The ideal candidate is comfortable working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff and is willing to step in wherever needed to keep patient care moving efficiently.
While fluoroscopy and procedural support are the primary responsibilities of this position, the Radiologic Technologist will also be expected to assist with basic medical assistant and clinical support duties when not actively needed for procedures.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesC-Arm, Fluoroscopy, and Procedural Responsibilities- Operate C-arm fluoroscopy equipment during interventional pain procedures while maintaining appropriate image quality, radiation safety, and patient safety.
- Assist physicians with fluoroscopic imaging during procedures including:
- Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI)
- Radiofrequency Ablation/Neurotomy (RFA)
- Selective Nerve Root Blocks (SNRB)
- Medial Branch Blocks (MBB)
- Sacroiliac Joint Injections
- Hip and other joint injections
- Intrathecal pain pump procedures
- Spinal cord stimulator trials
- Other fluoroscopically guided spinal, nerve, and joint procedures
- Position patients appropriately for fluoroscopic imaging and procedures.
- Operate fluoroscopic equipment in accordance with physician direction, applicable regulations, established protocols, and scope of practice.
- Apply radiation-safety and ALARA principles to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Utilize appropriate radiation-protective equipment and safety measures.
- Accurately document fluoroscopy time, radiation exposure information, and other required procedural information according to practice policy and applicable requirements.
- Perform or assist with assigned equipment quality-control and safety procedures.
- Identify equipment concerns and promptly communicate problems requiring service, inspection, or repair.
- Prepare procedure rooms and confirm necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning appropriately.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate sterile technique and a safe procedural environment.
- Provide compassionate and professional care before, during, and after procedures.
Because we operate as a collaborative, team-oriented practice, the Radiologic Technologist will also assist the clinical team when not actively supporting procedures.
Responsibilities may include:
- Rooming patients and preparing them for provider evaluation and treatment.
- Obtaining and accurately documenting vital signs.
- Reviewing and updating basic patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Assisting with patient flow between waiting, examination, and procedure areas.
- Preparing and turning over examination and procedure rooms.
- Assisting clinical staff with supplies, equipment, and general patient-care needs.
- Supporting basic administrative and front-office functions when necessary.
- Assisting medical assistants, providers, and other team members as appropriate and within the individual's training and permitted scope of practice.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, front-office staff, and administrative team members.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist wherever appropriate to support patient care and efficient operations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Follow OSHA standards, infection-control procedures, radiation-safety requirements, and applicable federal and Indiana regulations.
- Maintain professionalism and composure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Promptly communicate concerns involving patient safety, equipment, radiation exposure, or procedural operations.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture.
- Graduate of an approved ARRT-recognized Radiography educational program .
- Current Indiana Radiologic Technologist license issued through the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH).
- Current ARRT certification and registration in Radiography – RT(R).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain certification within the timeframe established by the practice.
- Must maintain required state licensure, ARRT registration, continuing education, and other credentials throughout employment.
- Knowledge of fluoroscopic imaging techniques, ALARA principles, and radiation-safety practices.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Comfortable working within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient and staff safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary clinical staff.
- Willingness to cross-train and assist with clinical and basic administrative responsibilities when needed.
- Previous experience operating C-arm fluoroscopy equipment .
- Experience in Interventional Pain Management, Orthopedics, Spine Care, Ambulatory Surgery, Operating Room, or another procedural setting.
- Familiarity with fluoroscopically guided spinal and joint procedures.
- Previous outpatient clinical experience.
- Experience performing or assisting with both radiologic and medical assistant responsibilities.
Prior pain-management or C-arm experience is preferred but is not required for an otherwise qualified Radiologic Technologist who demonstrates the ability and willingness to complete practice-specific training.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to assist patients with positioning, transfers, and mobility as appropriate.
- Ability to lift, move, and position equipment and supplies as required.
- Ability to safely maneuver C-arm equipment within the procedure environment.
- Ability to wear lead protective equipment for extended periods during fluoroscopic procedures.
- Ability to perform the physical duties associated with a fast-paced outpatient procedural practice, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
