Quality Control Technician

Our client in Silver Creek, NY is looking for a quality control technician in metal fabrication or machining.

Position Summary


The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet company, customer, and industry quality standards. This role performs inspections, testing, measurement, and documentation activities throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience interpreting engineering drawings, and a commitment to continuous improvement and product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated and manufactured components.
• Verify product conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Utilize measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, tape measures, and other inspection equipment.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Identify, document, and communicate non-conforming materials or products.
• Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Support internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and management teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and safety regulations.
• Assist with material certifications and customer documentation requirements.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of quality control, inspection, or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Preferred

• Associate degree or technical training in manufacturing, quality, or engineering.
• Experience in metal fabrication, machining, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of ISO quality standards.
• Experience with corrective action processes and quality documentation systems.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of parts and materials.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
