Welcome to the Surgical Acute Department! As a dynamic 63-bed post-surgical unit specializing in the care of post-op and trauma patients, we embody a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration. Our dedicated staff is known for their willingness to step in and support one another whenever needed. As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Nursing Assistant in our department, you'll play a vital role in completing essential tasks such as vitals monitoring, drain care, hygiene assistance, and engaging patients in various activities. Position Summary: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Required Qualifications:

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience
• Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
