Design Engineer

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their client's team in Massachusetts. This exciting opportunity involves working on-site in Pittsfield, MA, and offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $110,000 annually. The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed 2D and 3D models, engineering drawings, and vehicle assembly layouts, with a focus on solving complex design challenges and supporting manufacturing operations. Responsibilities Design metal fabricated parts and assemblies using SolidWorks 3D CAD software. Develop complete vehicle models and engineering documentation for production teams. Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and specifications. Manage engineering files using Product Data Management (PDM) systems and ERP software. Coordinate multiple projects with varying priorities and deadlines. Collaborate closely with production personnel to review designs and resolve manufacturing concerns. Process and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for product modifications and improvements. Assist in creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufactured and purchased components. Support continuous improvement initiatives through design optimization and enhanced manufacturing processes. Ensure designs meet quality, performance, and manufacturability requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of mechanical engineering or related experience. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with SolidWorks. Experience working with PDM and ERP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Experience designing fabricated metal components and assemblies is preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments is preferred. Experience supporting engineering change management processes is preferred. Familiarity with documentation control and product lifecycle management systems is preferred.
