Job Title: Maintenance Electrician Job Description
This role focuses on electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting complex high-voltage systems and supporting reliable machine operation. You will diagnose and repair 3-phase 480V equipment, work with PLCs and control panels, and perform mechanical troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The position also involves preventive maintenance and basic programming to keep a variety of production machines operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair high-level electrical issues on production equipment, with a primary focus on 3-phase 480V systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults beyond simple restarts, ensuring root causes are identified and corrected.
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on equipment that includes hydraulic and pneumatic components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on machines to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Work on multi-faceted machines that include rollers, ovens, sprayers, and related components, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Build and set up new control panels, including wiring and component layout, to support equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Program basic PLC logic, typically involving simple 2–3 step programs, to control equipment functions.
- Read and interpret ladder logic and relay diagrams to diagnose PLC-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and service AC/DC drives and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Use electrical schematics, blueprints, and prints to guide troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Perform electrical maintenance tasks, including inspection, repair, and replacement of components as needed.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Document work performed and communicate equipment status and issues to appropriate stakeholders.
- At least 5 years of PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, schematics, and blueprints.
- Hands-on experience working with 3-phase 480V systems.
- Ability to read and understand ladder logic and relay-based PLC diagrams.
- Experience troubleshooting AC/DC drives and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Background in electrical maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
- Capability to perform mechanical maintenance tasks, including work on hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Familiarity with HMIs and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Previous experience working with industrial ovens.
- Relevant electrical or industrial maintenance certifications.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting with complex machinery such as rollers, ovens, and sprayers.
- Comfort working with both AC and DC drive systems.
- Exposure to building or modifying control panels.
- Familiarity with industrial HMIs and basic control system interfaces.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled and may not be the cleanest environment, so you should be comfortable working in an industrial setting. You will work primarily on the 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Weekend work is only expected when there is scheduled downtime on a machine, and the facility has a long history of not operating on Sundays. The environment includes complex production equipment such as rollers, ovens, sprayers, AC/DC drives, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and control panels, providing exposure to a wide range of industrial technologies.
