Banquet Server | The Read House

Step into over 150 years of history at The Read House. We are seeking Banquet Servers who embody timeless elegance and warm hospitality. If you are passionate about delivering legendary dining experiences in an opulent, 1920s-inspired setting, we want you on our team.

Position is part-time, on-call with flexibility on scheduling. Hourly rate plus gratuity! $$$

Your Responsibilities

• Host with Elegance: Serve guests with an enthusiastic, welcoming attitude that elevates the ambiance of our grand event spaces.
• Set the Stage: Accurately read banquet orders to perfectly arrange tables, buffets, and linens to the client's exact vision.
• Maintain Perfection: Anticipate guest needs, replenish beverages, clear courses promptly, and polish silverware and glassware to a shine.
• Seamless Transitions: Collaborate with the team to seamlessly set up, serve, and break down our 12 distinctive event venues.

What You Bring

• Experience: 1–3 years in food service (banquet experience is highly preferred). High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospitality: Impeccable communication skills, patience, and a meticulous eye for detail.
• Poise: The ability to remain motivated and cool under pressure in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
• Compliance: A TABC Server Permit (within 60 days of hire) and a commitment to safe food and alcohol handling guidelines.
• Flexibility: You maintain regular, punctual attendance and can work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires.

Working Demands

• Physicality: You have the ability to stand for extended periods, sometimes for an entire shift. You must be able to hear at a basic level to communicate with coworkers and guests. You can frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Gracefully hand-carry service trays holding up to 10 covered entrée plates.
• Environment: Expect a work environment with high guest contact and varying circumstances. Though most event space is indoors, you may occasionally work outside events.
