Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer
Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support and maintain quality systems within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements, and supporting product quality from development through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality system requirements, including APQP, PPAP, Core Tools, control plans, and customer-specific requirements
- Develop and maintain process control plans, capability studies, and Gage R&R studies
- Perform process capability analysis and recommend corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency
- Analyze quality data, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for process improvements
- Develop inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Investigate customer concerns and support customer audits and site visits
- Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Review manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and technical specifications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving process performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
- Previous Quality Engineering experience within an automotive manufacturing environment required
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and other Automotive Core Tools
- Experience conducting Gage R&R studies and process capability analysis
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Experience creating and maintaining process control plans and inspection documentation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related reporting tools
Additional Information
- Automotive industry experience is required
- Open to non-local candidates; however, relocation assistance is not available
- Competitive pay rate of $50-$65/hour based on experience
