This role supports a major U.S.-based financial institution and is part of a broader Engineering team focused on modernizing and automating large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure.As a key contributor, you will help transform traditional infrastructure operations spanning network, compute, storage, virtualization, cloud platforms, and middleware into a fully automated, API-driven, scalable ecosystem. You will design, build, and maintain automation frameworks using software development principles, DevOps methodologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern automation tooling.This is a software-engineering role applied to infrastructure: we are looking for an engineer who treats automation as a product idempotent, testable, and version-controlled rather than one who scripts around problems as they arise. This role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to collaborate across global teams, and the capability to translate infrastructure requirements into reproducible, automated workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Automation & DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using Python, leveraging modules for OS automation, API orchestration, and communication, encryption, and identity-aware workflows within automation platforms.Enforce security and compliance standards as policy-as-code (e.g., OPA/Gatekeeper, Sentinel, Kyverno) within delivery pipelines.Externalize secrets to a vault (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, or cloud key stores) never embedding credentials in code or state.Produce audit traceability and support separation of duties and change-approval controls expected in a regulated financial-services environment.Linux, Systems & DevOpsAdminister Linux environments used for automation engines, CI/CD workers, and execution nodes.Deploy and manage containerized automation services or similar technologies.Follow DevOps best practices including CI pipelines, code reviews, documentation, and observability.Contribute to monitoring and telemetry automation using frameworks like Prometheus or Elastic (preferred but not required).Instrument automation for observability (metrics, logs, traces) TechnologiesExplore emerging automation technologies, including policy-as-code, event-driven automation, and AIOps.Recommend process improvements, reusable frameworks, or new tooling to elevate automation maturity.Contribute to standards, templates, and best practices for automation across the enterprise.Apply event-driven automation and AIOps (event correlation, anomaly detection) to reduce toil, and explore GenAI-/agent-assisted automation with appropriate guardrails.Required QualificationsBachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or related field (or equivalent B.E. / B.Tech / MCA).5-7+ years in infrastructure automation.Strong proficiency in Python for automation, including experience working with APIs, structured data, and system automation libraries.Hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories) or other configuration management tools.Experience working with structured data formats (JSON, YAML, XML) and templating systems.Solid understanding of core compute, OS fundamentals, virtualization concepts, and general infrastructure architecture.Experience with Git, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).Experience with Power platform, PowerBI, Power Automate, etc.Strong Linux systems
