Field Mechanic

Talon Recruiting has partnered with a Heavy Equipment company. They are in search of a Field Mechanic to join their team in Allentown, PA.

Ideal Fit: The ideal fit will have extensive knowledge of Crane, Forklift or Industrial Equipment maintenance.

Essential Duties:

• Read mechanical schematics and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Read mechanical and machinist blueprints, and precision measuring instruments, then document findings on appropriate paperwork.
• Perform mechanical and welding-type duties on an as-needed basis and meet all requirements such as welding specs, rigging, and assembling cranes.
• Troubleshoot all sizes and types of cranes and mechanically determine problems and take corrective action.
• Work independently with little or no supervision.
• Provide Service Manager with accurate and complete information on mechanical machinery in order to install/replace/order replacement parts.
• Operate machinery in the shop and the field as needed such as saw, fork truck, cherry picker, high lift, torch welder, transit.
• Work in extreme conditions such as height, dirt, noise, vibration, nuclear Environment, and temperature.
• Perform all assignments according to established procedures, guidelines and with recognized electrical codes.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $26-$40+ hour based on experience
