About the Facility Shiprock Medical Service Unit The Shiprock Service Unit (SRSU) is the largest geographical service-unit of Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS). SRSU population extends into New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. The scope of SRSU's responsibility is extensive and includes administrative oversight of one hospital. NNMC and two health centers: Four Corners Regional Health Center and Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center. NNMC provides the following primary and specialty care services in inpatient and outpatient care services: medical-surgical, pediatric inpatient, labor and delivery, intensive care units, internal medicine, family practice, urgent and emergency care, women's health, pharmacy, optometry, dental, radiology, public health nursing, medical social services, health promotion/disease prevention and traditional medicine. Furthermore, the NNMC ED is certified as PEDS Ready by the New Mexico Emergency Medical Services for Children and the University of New Mexico Child Ready Program. Responsibilities

• The OBGYN Physician is responsible for completing a medical degree from an accredited medical school and fulfilling a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries related to the genitourinary and reproductive systems is a key responsibility of OBGYNs.
• Diagnose and manage a comprehensive range of obstetrical and gynecological cases.
• Demonstrate competence in the insertion and management of intrauterine devices (IUDs).
• Provide care to both routine and complicated antenatal patients, ensuring a thorough understanding of prenatal care.
• The OBGYN Physician performs both vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections with proficiency.
• Conduct pelvic exams to assess and monitor reproductive health.
• Conduct colposcopy procedures to evaluate and address abnormal Pap smears.
• Perform routine gynecological surgeries, including abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, and operative laparoscopic treatments.
• The OBGYN Physician conducts various office-based procedures such as endometrial biopsy, routine obstetric ultrasounds, and participating in rotating OB/GYN on-call services.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of two years' experience as an OB/GYN.
• Must be board certified in OBGYN.
• Minimum education is a doctorate degree in Osteopathy or Allopathic medicine.
• The physician must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action license as a physician in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
• Shall hold and maintain BLS and ACLS certification.
