STR MGMT/FRONT END DEPT LEADER

About the Role Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment, lead the Front‑end department to meet sales and profit goals, ensure quality assurance, supervise all front‑end functions, and implement best practices. Responsibilities Direct and supervise all functions, duties and activities for the Front‑end department. Lead the day‑to‑day operations, ensuring execution of best practices, goals and standards. Achieve front‑end performance goals and implement performance best practices. Drive the department in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor quality assurance standards. Maintain safety and food‑safety regulations, identify unsafe conditions, and report incidents. Supervise and coach direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback. Manage cash control, sales records, and cash items; oversee cash flow and reconciliation. Control department expenses, monitor inventory/stock levels, and note discrepancies. Schedule front‑end associates, ensuring adequate coverage and maintaining scheduling records. Assist store management with budget preparation, profit and loss reviews, and financial reporting. Develop and implement a business plan to achieve desired results for the department. Hire and onboard entry‑level store associates for the front‑end. Update shelf tags and promotional signs for daily, weekly, and monthly price changes. Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including preventive maintenance of equipment. Report all safety risks, incidents, and any illegal activity to management. Minimum Qualifications Effective communication skills. Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction). Ability to handle stressful situations. Retail or customer service experience. Desired Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Management experience. Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, writing). Ability to promote trust, respect, and teamwork among associates. Strong communication of company, department, and job‑specific information. Marketing and product knowledge to respond to customer inquiries and suggest items. Strong budgeting and financial acumen (cash control, profit/loss, budgeting). Ability to monitor and control supply expenses and departmental budgets. Experience in hiring and onboarding new staff. Up‑to‑date knowledge of current promotions, seasonal, and special ads. Inventory awareness and ability to note discrepancies. Commitment to food safety and preventive maintenance. Ability to report and manage safety incidents or risks. Knowledge of local, state, federal laws and company policies. Strong coaching and performance management skills. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
