Position: Planning and Environmental Team Leader Location: Atlanta, GA Job Id: 7073 # of Openings: 1 Garver is seeking a Planning and Environmental Team Leader to join our growing team to build and oversee a dynamic portfolio of profitable planning and environmental projects in the state of Georgia. Our team serves public clients across the region with project planning, development, and delivery, including corridor studies, environmental studies, public involvement, and NEPA documentation. While primarily transportation focused, our team serves all Garver’s business lines including water, aviation, and Federal. In this role, you will be responsible for the operational & strategic direction of a highly talented team including profitable growth, client development, and project delivery. Additionally, you will be provided all necessary tools, resources, and guidance for success. Our leader must be an effective “doer/seller” with the ability to balance team & project management, and business development simultaneously.Responsibilities:Lead business development activities including direct client interaction and engagementBuild and oversee a team of environmental professionals, providing coaching and supporting career developmentProcure, manage, and execute planning and environmental projects for Garver’s Transportation business line.Project management, sub-consultant coordination, project/task scheduling, contract scope and fee development/negotiations, managing team members, preparing cost estimatesLead environmental/planning document preparation and public involvement activitiesProvide technical competency to serve as a project leader and technical advisor on planning and environmental projectsParticipate in marketing activities such as proposal and letter of interest production, interviews, and other presentationsFoster collaboration between engineering and environmental teams and specialized service providersMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in planning or an environmental field10+ years of experience managing planning and environmental projects, in particular transportation projectsPractical working knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act and implementation processes, including alternatives analysis, impact assessment, and public involvementStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong working knowledge of MS OfficeThe ideal candidate will have:Team leadership skills to recruit, develop, mentor, and oversee a highly motivated team; interface and workload balance with other regional teams; and be accountable to senior management for team portfolio performanceProject management skills to prepare scope-of-work and level-of-effort estimates for contract proposals; lead and manage team for successful execution of contracted scope, budget, and scheduleTechnical experience in environmental planning and documentation15+ years of team management experience, including experience leading transportation projectsStrong business development skills and previous experience with project and client managementGrow With UsGarver offers its employees programs such as company-paid professional memberships, company support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
