Bilingual Hotline Advocate

Schedule & Compensation Full Time / Non-Exempt: 36 hours per week Schedule: Sunday 2:00 pm‑6:00 pm; Monday‑Thursday 4:00 pm‑12:00 am Annual Salary: $40,000 The Bridge is searching for a Bilingual Hotline Advocate to provide crisis intervention, information, and referral services through a 24‑hour hotline for survivors of domestic/sexual violence and homelessness. Responsibilities Answer 24‑hour hotline, Live Chat, and text line to provide assessments, crisis intervention, information, referrals, and immediate needs. Manage the HCDV shelter bed database and collect/enter monthly data on services provided. Maintain the TBOTW account with up‑to‑date bed availability, daily. Complete reports in compliance with grant and agency requirements. Assist with hotline and crisis intervention training for staff and volunteers on competencies for crisis intervention, Live Chat, Language Line, DA‑LE calls, and accompaniments. Maintain community resources for survivors by updating the resource manual with current information. Provide on‑call advocacy (2–3 shifts per month, including overnight and weekend hours) to survivors at local hospitals. Offer limited casework to shelter residents, conduct initial assessments for emergency shelter services, and update resident census. Assist shelter staff with transportation and other daily operations as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in social sciences; alternatively, high school diploma/GED with at least one year of experience in social services or customer service. Bilingual Spanish/English required. Must rotate on‑call responsibility for 2–3 24‑hour shifts per month to provide accompaniments to victims of domestic/family violence at local hospitals, police departments, schools, etc. Knowledge of the dynamics of sexual and domestic violence, related laws, and an overview of the legal system. Ability to establish rapport and work with at‑risk populations. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to work independently. Other Requirements Must pass a criminal background investigation check. Must provide and maintain a current Texas Driver’s License. Must maintain a clean driving record and update it annually. Must possess current auto liability insurance. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs and ascend/descend stairs in an emergency shelter setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr Alpine Fit PT
