We are seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) to oversee operations and team development across two high-performing optical practice locations in the Greater Austin area: Leander and Hutto, TX . This key leadership role bridges clinical patient care and premium retail optical sales. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of success managing both clinical workflows and retail sales environments, with the operational savvy to optimize staffing, enhance patient flow, and drive consistent top-line growth across both locations.

Location This dual-site leadership role serves two of the fastest-growing, highly desirable communities in the Greater Austin metropolitan area:

• Leander, TX: Located just northwest of Austin in Williamson County, Leander is known for its scenic Texas Hill Country views, master-planned neighborhoods, outstanding school districts, and outdoor destinations like the San Gabriel River and Lake Travis.
• Hutto, TX: Situated just northeast of Austin along the booming SH-130 and US-79 corridors, Hutto offers small-town charm, exceptional community growth, and family-oriented amenities.

Connected via major tollways and arterial corridors (SH-45, SH-130, and US-183), this territory allows for manageable travel between centers while keeping you plugged into the vibrant culture, economic momentum, and high quality of life of the Austin region.

What You'll Be Working On

• Dual-Site Operational Leadership: Direct day-to-day retail and clinical operations across both Leander and Hutto locations, ensuring seamless patient intake, exam scheduling, and optical dispensing.
• Clinic & Retail Synergy: Bridge the clinical optometric schedule with the retail optical floor to deliver exceptional patient handoffs, superior frame styling, and strong capture rates.
• Team Development & Mentorship: Recruit, onboard, train, and coach optical associates, technicians, and front-desk staff, fostering a high-performance, patient-first culture.
• Financial & KPI Management: Own the P&L and performance metrics for both locations—monitoring sales revenue, conversion rates, average ticket size, labor efficiency, and inventory accuracy.
• Doctor Collaboration: Partner closely with practicing Optometrists to optimize exam capacity, support medical optometry workflows, and maintain an exceptional doctor-patient standard of care.
• Patient Experience & Quality Assurance: Address patient inquiries or escalations promptly and uphold the highest standards for optical laboratory ordering, dispensing, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3–5+ years of multi-unit or high-volume management experience demonstrating success in both clinical/healthcare practice operations and retail store environments (optical, specialty retail, or medical retail preferred).
• Leadership Capabilities: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable across multiple physical sites.
• Operational Acumen: Strong familiarity with scheduling, labor management, inventory control, and retail sales tracking.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interact effectively with doctors, technical staff, retail teams, and patients.
• Travel Flexibility: Reliable transportation and willingness to divide regular working hours between the Leander and Hutto clinics.

• Base Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 base salary (commensurate with experience).
