Manufacturing Technician

We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for a Manufacturing Technician to join a leading Company located in the Goleta, CA surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $30-32

Job Responsibilities:  

• Responsible for assembly and testing of productsin production.Ensures that assembly functions are completed in accordance with established safety, quality andproduction standards and documents. Prepares related documentation, including test procedures, reports, and assembly history records.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures, maintaininga safe working environment and participates in Safety, Health, andEnvironmental and Quality programs, trainings, and activities, including wearing required PPE.
• Immediately reports any safety, quality, production, equipment, and tooling problems as well as any needed maintenance, calibration, or expired material issues.
• Follows and completes assembly history records to align, fit, and assemble product components using hand tools, power tools andfixtures.
• Follows and completes test procedures using test stands, instruments andequipment for products.
• Ensures compliance withby reading and interpreting drawings, parts lists, specifications, assembly history records, and test procedures to inspect, assemble andtest products and subassemblies.
• Utilizes Lean Manufacturing to execute production schedule and keep area safe and clean.
• Identifies and assists willimplementation of improvements to safety, quality, productivity andefficiency, including: assembly history records, test procedures, equipment andbuild sequence.
• Assists with building and setting up new work cells and test set-ups using specialized equipment.
• Performs failure evaluation, repairs andrework on product assemblies in accordance with standard procedures to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
• Performs troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on various production equipment.
• Provides training to other Manufacturing Technicians.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

• 3 – 6 years of experience withmechanical and/or electronics assembly, or equivalent.
• High School degreeor equivalent is required. 
• Has knowledge ofbasic mathematics and is able tomeasure accurately.
• Able to learn/follow basic assembly and test procedures, use ofassembly and testingequipment, as well asother machinery and tools.
• Able to learn Oracle, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook andTeams.
• Diligence in completing paperwork to maintain traceability.
• Able to multitask several job duties and assignments.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, diagrams andtechnical specifications.
• Knowledge of assembling and/or testing various mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in production assembly, manufacturing, and test environments.
• Experience troubleshooting, identifying andassisting with continuous improvement.
• Experience handling electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive items and flight hardware handling.
• Knowledge of Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD).
• Able to work overtime, weekends, and evenings as needed.

Desired Qualifications: 

• Knowledge of soldering, including J-STD 001current/expired certification.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and /or gear and gerotor pumps.
• Knowledge of Environmental Stress Screening Equipment (ESS): Vibe Table, thermal cycle, etc.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Physical Demands include:
•Requires the ability to access all areas of the facility.
•Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use office equipment and tools repeatively or long periods of time.
•Ability to lift 25 pounds in the course of normal duties.
•Ability to see details at close range (near vision).
•Dexterity for use of tools required for job.

Work Conditions include:
•Required to work with hazardous chemicals.
**Exposure to IPA and rubbing alcohol. Sometimes there is ammonia and Jet Fuel on-site.
•May be exposed to environment with loud noise and extreme temperatures.

Tools Used:
•Software: Oracle, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
•Manufacturing / Test Equipment (Torque wrenches, Hand and Power Tools, ESD)
