Design Leader
A design leader who knows how to balance big-picture thinking with exceptional hands-on craft. You're equally passionate about creating beautiful, intuitive digital experiences and building the teams that bring them to life. You have a strong foundation in visual design and UX, a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to lead senior client conversations without losing your love for the work itself. You're collaborative, strategic, and comfortable moving between setting the vision, getting into the design files, and mentoring the next generation of talent. You believe great design should look incredible, work seamlessly, and make a real impact.
A forward-thinking incubation studio that is known for their high-quality work, an innovative approach and collaborates with clients to reimagine how they go to market.
Responsibilities
- Co-lead the design practice alongside the Head of Brand & Experience Design, setting the creative and product design vision across client engagements.
- Own senior client relationships, confidently presenting work, building trust, and leading design conversations.
- Lead end-to-end product design, from research and concept development through high-fidelity design and developer handoff.
- Set the standard for visual design, UX, and overall craft across digital products and experiences.
- Translate user insights and product strategy into elegant, intuitive, and practical design solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, strategists, and creative teams to define requirements and prioritize user-centered outcomes.
- Build and scale design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across platforms.
- Lead workshops, design critiques, and user testing to inform and validate decisions.
- Champion accessibility, usability, and inclusive design principles.
- Help hire, mentor, and grow the design team, including full-time designers and freelance talent.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience leading product design for web and/or mobile, with expertise across UX and visual design.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual and graphic craft alongside thoughtful UX and interaction design.
- Expertise in prototyping, user research, and translating insights into compelling digital experiences.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and modern collaborative design workflows.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools.
- Proven ability to lead senior client relationships and present confidently to executive stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience building, maintaining, and scaling design systems.
- Based on the information provided by our client, the base salary for this position is in the $200K–$275K range, depending on experience.
