About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in ICU License: Valid RN License (Georgia or Compact) Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: CCRN Preferred Description: Staffing Ratio: 1:2 Core staff are placed on call first. Agency staff may float. Unit Systems include Pyxis and EPIC. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both holidays. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major Holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. Unit accepts first-time travelers. Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant in time, the pushback is 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Patient Diagnoses include ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, seizure disorders, craniotomies, complex spinal surgeries, aneurysm coilings/clippings, and thrombectomies. Unit details involve intracranial pressure monitoring, continuous sedation, and external ventricular drains. Additional support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. Special equipment used includes ventilators and cerebral oximetry monitoring. Daily census is around 12 patients. The unit has 12 beds available. All requests for time off must be finalized at the time of submission. No requests for time off are accepted during the orientation week. Compliance documents are due prior to the start date.
