Manufacturing Engineer In Skunk Works®As a Manufacturing Engineer in Skunk Works®, you will play a critical role as liaison between our design engineering teams and the elite women and men responsible for building tomorrow's future in an advanced manufacturing and technology facility. You will be an aerospace vehicle systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, etc.) expert that will work amongst a team of specialized and professionally engineers to lead producibility reviews, develop manufacturing plans, and guide work instructions generation to directly support the shop floor. Our team is in development, and there will be an expectation to develop, shape, and document processes for manufacturing engineering standard work. As a vehicle systems expert, you will also mentor earlier career engineers on the discipline. We work cross functionally and engage other organizations as needed to support our common program goals. This role may require infrequent travel, extended hours, and possible weekend/off-hour support. We work full time on site. Key duties for this position include:Serve as subject matter expert across vehicle systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, ECS, etc.)Work in parallel with design engineering, quality engineering, supply chain organizations, environmental safety & health and production operationsProvide producibility review inputs to shape engineering requirements towards a more efficient build processCreate 3D manufacturing simulations to drive efficiency throughout the build of our product, perform clash detections, sequence assembly tasks for the lifecycle of the programReview critical designs and provide design for manufacturability feedback of all 3D engineering models to reduce cost and positively impact performance at suppliers across the countryCreate Manufacturing Engineering Statement of Work contractual requirementsRequired Skills:8+ years' experience supporting aerospace vehicle systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, engines, testing) in a production environment8+ years' experience with production operations and/or engineering8+ years' experience providing design engineering with producibility inputs to shape build strategy5+ Years CAD experience (CATIA V4/5, 3DX experience preferred)Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineering position supporting program start-ups, assembly, and production processesDesired skills:Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) CertificateProject management experienceAtlassian Confluence and JIRA experienceStrong technical and problem-solving skills in vehicle systems manufacturing and testExperience Root Cause and Corrective Action, and FMEADemonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and set up production work cells and facility layout changesDemonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment or independently to solve problems in a timely mannerDemonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications, manufacturing planning, & develop work instructionsAbility to effectively present technical information to non-technical peopleDemonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop workaround plans or corrective action plansActive DoD Clearance with an Investigation within the last 5 years AND the ability to obtain and maintain special program access per business requirements
