Operating from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck, you will manage the flow of cylinders while building lasting relationships with the customers you visit. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cylinder Handling: Safely load, deliver and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations. Record Keeping: Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA. Warehouse Support: Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed. Ready to fill your potential? A Day in the Life of an Airgas Delivery Driver: Click Here Required Qualifications Valid LA Class A Commercial Driver's License. Valid Medical Examiner's Card. Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications. Must have one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years. In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years. Must be at least 21 years or older. Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets. Ability to routinely lift 25-75 lbs, and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment. Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required. Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary. Ability to obtain and maintain necessary safety credentials for customer site access. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in operating heavy machinery (Forklift/Moffett).
