This role involves overseeing women's services operations, managing workflow, and optimizing nursing resources.

• Gather and assess relevant health information to create and execute personalized care plans that include interventions aimed at achieving measurable outcomes for women and newborns, focusing on family-centered care.
• Facilitate care delivery that emphasizes woman-, newborn-, and family-centered approaches within the defined scope of practice. Utilize health education strategies to promote, maintain, or restore health in a safe environment.
• Monitor and evaluate progress towards achieving expected outcomes in the context of family-centered care.
• Make ethical decisions and take actions on behalf of women, fetuses, and newborns, guided by a robust ethical framework. Ensure care practices align with principles of cultural diversity and inclusion.
• Engage in effective communication and collaboration with women, families, healthcare providers, and the community to deliver safe and holistic care.
• Act as a role model, change agent, consultant, and mentor for women, families, healthcare consumers, and fellow professionals. Stay informed and maintain competencies that reflect current evidence-based nursing practices.
• Utilize or integrate evidence to identify, assess, validate, and evaluate interprofessional knowledge and various approaches in caring for women and newborns. Implement new measures to enhance nursing quality as needed.
• Reflect on personal nursing practice and participate in evaluating others against current evidence-based care standards, professional guidelines, and regulations. Consider resource factors related to safety, effectiveness, technology, and fiscal responsibility in care planning.
• Ensure environmentally safe and healthy practices when delivering care to women, newborns, and families.
• Apply established evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in women's services nursing, ensuring care meets the specific clinical and age-related needs of patients as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
• Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

• Regularly use speech for effective oral communication.
• Frequent standing and walking are required.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing between 0-50 lbs.
• Regularly engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
• Frequent visual acuity for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
• Utilize smell for odor detection and hearing for communication and safety alerts.
• Occasional driving and physical movements such as bending, stooping, and squatting.

State-specific requirements include:

• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure as per state regulations
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) or equivalent certifications (NRP, PALS) as required by state.
