Internship Opportunity

The Intern will train with key team members in underwriting, operations and claims to learn and participate in the Berkley Edge underwriting and claims process as a resume builder and stepping stone to a future career in the insurance industry.

• Train with key team members in underwriting, operations and claims to learn and participate in the Berkley Edge underwriting and claims process

• Utilize strong analysis skills in accordance with service standards, objectives, and underwriting guidelines

• Complete a final project incorporating items learned throughout the internship

• Work independently, both on a remote and potential hybrid-based in-person schedule through the summer months

• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support business partners

• Participate in the 10-week, paid internship running Monday, June 1, 2026 through Thursday, August 6, 2026

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0 and above required

• Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career-related work experience within the industry

• Career interest in underwriting or claims in Excess and Surplus Lines

• Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

• Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills

• Strong research and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite

• Prior work experience preferred

• Rising Junior or Senior student preferred

• Pursuit of a bachelor's degree with a focus in Risk Management and Insurance, or a related program/field preferred

• This is a temporary summer internship and therefore does not offer a benefits package

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, preferably in Risk Management and Insurance or a related program/field

Additional Requirements

Location and Travel: • Primary location Saint Petersburg, FL. • Remote and potential hybrid-based in-person schedule through the summer months.
