Postdoctoral Fellow - Immunology

Overview A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the department of Immunology. The goals of this project are to understand the response of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) to treatment with existing and novel immunotherapy agents, relate these responses to treatment outcomes, perform studies to connect observational findings with immunotherapy mechanisms in CLL, and work effectively within a collaborative group to drive forward curative therapies for CLL. The project will include working directly with clinical teams to acquire and evaluate samples from patients using high-dimensional analyses including but not limited to multi parameter flow cytometry, single cell RNA sequencing, and spatial studies. In addition, the project will involve use of CLL mouse models for mechanistic studies, working collaboratively within a group focused on curative therapies for CLL, and other related duties as assigned. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations. Learning Objectives Determine immune outcomes to immunotherapy in chronic lymphocytic leukemia Relate immune outcomes to patient outcomes in response to immunotherapy Determine immune and disease mechanisms in mouse models of chronic lymphocytic leukemia Perform current and emerging high-dimensional analysis approaches to evaluate immune and disease mechanisms Effective and timely preparation of manuscripts, reports, and research grants Eligibility Requirements PhD in Immunology or related biomedical field Substantial scholarly work, e.g., first author and collaborative publications Track record of scholarships, awards, and / or extramural funding Ability to work well independently and as a member of a scientific team Position Information MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
