Position Title House Supervisor (RN) – Bronson LakeView Hospital (PRN) Location Bronson LakeView Hospital, BLH Overview The House Manager is responsible for supporting the operations and patient care services of the organization and providing administrative and clinical leadership to unit staff and ancillary departments. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee hospital operations. Provide administrative direction and resolve crises and conflicts. Investigate problems and complaints from patients, visitors, physicians and staff. Implement appropriate action and follow up on issues. Serve as the initial contact for atypical events, conduct initial assessment and initiate appropriate action. Ensure stabilization of patients and notification of risk management, CSI and department managers. Continuously assess the hospital environment for safety concerns and take action as necessary. Attend all Safety Check‑In Meetings Monday – Friday and lead them on weekends and holidays. Coordinate placement of all admissions and transfers and communicate with Bronson First for regional transfers. Collaborate with physicians and Rapid Response to ensure optimal patient placement. Monitor hospital capacity and manage throughput to avoid delays. Provide hospital‑wide communication regarding level of occupancy and collaborate with ER physicians and ER charge nurse when at capacity. Lead 0400/1600 Bed Planning Meetings and work with staffing office to ensure appropriate placement of available staff. Communicate with outside organizations or their representatives, including other health care facilities, law enforcement agencies, and the media. Manage the initial response in the event of a disaster, crisis or emergency situation, notifying the incident commander and coordinating all activities. Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, including Substance Abuse Policy. Answer all calls for Employee Incident Hot Line after hours, on weekends and holidays, provide initial triage and document all calls. Identify bed bugs with EVS manager, coordinate notification of EVS, facilities and pest control, and ensure rooms are properly sealed post‑discharge. Conduct regular rounds on all hospital departments and units, monitor unit activity, level of patient care and assist with problem resolution. Act as a mentor to staff and advocate for patients. Oversee availability of supplies and equipment necessary for patient care and provide direction during shortages or downtime. Qualifications Registered Nurse in good standing with the state of Michigan. For South Haven only: BSN required upon hire (effective Dec.1,2019); if hired before this date, must have an active nursing license and 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience. BCLS required upon hire for Bronson SouthHaven Hospital. Advanced Life Support certification within six months of hire. Completion of Hospital Incident Command courses IS‑100.HCb, IS‑200HCb, IS‑200.HCa and IS‑700.a, and NIH Stroke certification within six months of hire. Part of the stroke team at Bronson BattleCreek; responsible for proper mixing and dosing of TPA. Overall knowledge of disaster planning and certification in Incident Service (IS) courses highly preferred. Ability to operate and perform basic computer programs associated with record keeping. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment related to patient care delivery. Strong teamwork and communication skills; able to interact effectively with visitors, physicians, hospital personnel, and administrative staff. Shift Variable; Part time.
