Our client, a respected healthcare organization dedicated to advancing community health through comprehensive, patient-centered, and innovative care, is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will serve as a strategic business partner and key member of the executive leadership team, providing visionary financial leadership to support the organization's mission and long-term objectives.


The CFO will oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, revenue cycle operations, reimbursement strategy, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This executive will play a pivotal role in strengthening the organization's financial performance, driving transformation initiatives, and ensuring sustainable growth in an evolving healthcare environment.


The ideal candidate will bring deep healthcare finance expertise , a strong understanding of New York Medicaid reimbursement methodologies , revenue cycle optimization, managed care, physician performance and proven success leading transformation and change initiatives. The CFO will work closely with the Board of Trustees, executive leadership, clinical and operational stakeholders, and external partners to develop and execute strategies that enhance financial stability, operational efficiency, and organizational sustainability.


Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Present financial performance, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
• Oversee revenue cycle management, including billing, collections, and payer performance analysis.
• Lead government reimbursement strategies, particularly Medicare and Medicaid, identifying and maximizing supplemental funding opportunities.
• Manage relationships with governmental agencies and regulatory bodies.
• Develop and evaluate infrastructure investments, capital expenditures, and return on investment analyses.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to advance operational improvements and cost management strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of senior healthcare financial leadership experience.
• Minimum 5 years as a CFO, Deputy CFO, or equivalent role.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance; MBA, MHA, CPA, or an equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
• Deep expertise in hospital reimbursement models, including Medicaid, Medicare, DSH, UPL, DPT, GME, and supplemental payments.
• Strong strategic planning and operational discipline.
• Proven experience in hospital turnaround, cost management, and revenue cycle transformation,
• Excellent communication skills suited for board-level interactions.
• Ability to collaborate and lead diverse teams effectively.
