• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Hours/Week: 36 hours/week (3-4 shifts) per week, every other weekend, holiday rotations required
• Employment Type: Contract
• License/Certifications: Active RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (preferred)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years PICU experience, cross-trained in ICU and Med/Tele preferred

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PICU patients, including those with MS, DKA, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, and post-op neuro and ortho cases
• Titrate medications such as pressors, insulin, heparin, and pain meds; monitor patient response
• Perform phlebotomy and manage IVs, CVLs, wound care, drains, and wound vacs
• Utilize Meditech Expanse EMR for patient documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including intensivists, hospitalists, RT, and resource nurses
• Adjust to units such as NICU, Adult ICU, or Step-down based on skillset and experience
• Work independently and as part of a focused team to ensure patient safety and comfort

What You Need

• Active RN license in Louisiana or in process
• Minimum of 2 years PICU experience; crossover to Med/Tele and adult ICU preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; NRP preferred
• Strong skills in titration, PIV, CVL, telemetry, and wound care
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Comfort in managing complex pediatric and adult patients across multiple critical care scenarios

About the Assignment
This assignment is for a busy, family-oriented unit known for its traveler-friendly environment. You will work 3-4 shifts per week, with a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday rotations. The unit provides a supportive atmosphere with a focus on quality patient care and team collaboration. You will receive orientation and two shifts on the unit prior to start, ensuring you're fully prepared for success.
