Release Of Information (ROI) Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Release Of Information (ROI) Specialist to join our Health Information Management (HIM) team. This role is responsible for processing requests for medical records and itemized bill copies promptly and accurately, while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, confidentiality, and data integrity.
Position is a long-term (13 weeks) temp-to-hire opportunity with a day shift from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM for 40 hours per week. Compensation is $16.75 – $18.00 per hour. Note: Local candidates only.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing requests for medical records and itemized bills in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state Release Of Information (ROI) regulations
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding HIPAA standards
- Utilizing EPIC or other EMR systems for record retrieval and processing
- Providing professional and courteous service to patients, providers, and third-party requestors
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- 2–3 years of clerical experience in a healthcare setting
- Previous experience in a medical office or HIM department
- Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly EPIC
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge of federal and state ROI regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
