About the Opportunity

We are representing an established engineering consultancy in the search for a Bridge Project Manager to join its bridge team in Indiana.

This is an opportunity for an experienced bridge or transportation engineer to take a leading role in the design and delivery of state and locally funded bridge projects, working across replacement and rehabilitation projects of varying size and complexity.

The ideal candidate will bring 4+ years of bridge or transportation engineering experience, an Indiana PE license or the ability to obtain one within six months, and strong experience with bridge design, project coordination and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, schedules and budgets for bridge projects.
• Lead the design and delivery of bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects.
• Review and approve structural design calculations.
• Review bridge drawings and technical deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Manage multiple bridge projects simultaneously while prioritizing schedules and deadlines.
• Coordinate with internal support departments and external sub-consultants.
• Work closely with and mentor junior engineers and CAD designers.
• Support the preparation of proposals for state and local bridge projects.
• Meet with existing and prospective clients to understand project needs and provide recommendations.
• Perform onsite inspections of existing bridges and develop recommendations for repair or replacement.
• Coordinate project activities from initial scope through design and delivery.
• Communicate effectively with clients, project teams and technical staff.

Ideal Background

• 4+ years of bridge or transportation engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Indiana PE license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with bridge design, rehabilitation and/or replacement projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience reviewing structural calculations and bridge plans preferred.
• Strong understanding of bridge project delivery and design processes.
• Experience coordinating with clients, sub-consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience mentoring junior engineers or designers preferred.
