Assistant Service ManagerTruck Country is seeking a driven and experienced Assistant Service Manager to help lead our service department operations. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality repairs, exceptional customer service, and a safe, efficient work environment. You'll partner closely with the Service Manager to support technicians, drive performance, and keep operations running smoothly.What You'll DoSupport day-to-day service operations and step in as a leader when needed (including after-hours/on-call support)Coach, mentor, and hold technicians and service staff accountable for performance and proceduresResolve customer concerns and manage high-priority repair follow-upsOversee technician efficiency, training, and developmentAssist with hiring and performance management of service team membersManage repair authorizations and monitor workflowTrack and address comebacks, ensuring quality controlMaintain shop safety, cleanliness, and compliance standardsOversee shop equipment, tooling, and facility-related needsSupport budgeting efforts and monitor department expensesHandle administrative duties including scheduling, time-off approvals, and service-related A/R follow-upWhat You BringHigh school diploma or equivalentProven leadership experience in a service or shop environmentStrong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced settingDetail-oriented with a focus on accountability and follow-throughProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Comfortable working with technicians and customers in challenging situationsWork EnvironmentCombination of indoor shop and outdoor conditionsExposure to noise, dust, and shop-related materialsPhysically active role with occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)Truck Country® / Stoops Freightliner-Western Star is one of the largest Freightliner Western Star dealership groups in the U.S. today, serving customers at locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
