About This Role

The Assistant Teacher is a vital support role within our team, assisting Teachers and the Director in crafting a nurturing environment that prioritizes the well-being and growth of our children. Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues are essential in this position, as is the ability to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. By observing and documenting children's progress, our Assistant Teachers provide invaluable insights that inform our educational program and help us tailor activities to meet the unique needs and interests of each child.

• Support the Teachers and Director in planning engaging curricula activities that encourage participation from all children.
• Ensure the smooth operation of the classroom by managing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and promoting a safe and organized learning environment.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents through regular informal discussions and progress reports.
• Model self-help and good hygiene practices to promote positive behaviors among children.
• Streamline the daily transition from home to child care center by establishing a consistent routine.
• Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.

• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Common Sense.

• Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification would be an asset.
• An educational background in Early Childhood Education or a willingness to pursue this education would be beneficial.
• Previous experience working in a Child Care setting would be valuable.
