APRN/PA Clinic (Palm Beach Gardens/ Wellington)

Role Overview Assists physician in the care and teaching of patients. Responsibilities Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies. Write prescriptions for medication, blood products, routine diagnostic and follow‑up studies, therapeutic measures, and care post‑discharge in accordance with written practice protocols. Determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials based on findings. Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests. Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician. Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens as prescribed. Dictate follow‑up letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment, response and plan. Dictate or write patient history, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes in a timely manner. Assist in the management of family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients’ care. Conduct or participate in daily multi‑disciplinary rounds for assigned patients to ensure quality care. Provide on‑call coverage and perform hospital rounds as needed. Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation. Document and report care in an accurate, timely manner using appropriate forms and records. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and remain flexible in a changing health care environment. Assist staff in times of crisis or emergency. Efficiently market and promote cancer treatment to the public outside the institution. Determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of assignments. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy, rights, personnel law, safety, labor and employment law. Adhere to FCS and departmental policies, IT policies, and the Disaster Recovery Plan. Perform other duties as requested. Maintain a neat and orderly work area and records. Maintain all company equipment safely and operationally. Ensure confidentiality of all patient and employee information per HIPAA regulations. Assist in training new employees to related job duties. Be prepared to work at any FCS location and work overtime with sufficient notice. Education, Certifications & Licenses Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program, master’s degree in nursing or post‑master nurse practitioner certificate program. 0–3 years licensed as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Current license/registration to practice in the state of Florida with prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply. Certification from PANCE, AANP, ANCC, or ONCC. BLS certified. Experience Leadership skills necessary to direct others toward objectives that contribute to successful patient treatment. Analytical skills to evaluate patient status, health care procedures, and monitor quality of care. Fiscal skills to monitor and control costs and revenue. Sound judgment and discretion while performing duties.
