Grocery Store Assistant Manager

Responsibilities Assists with the management of all aspects of store operations including customer service, store condition and the selection, training, supervising, and performance management of Store Sales Associates. Assists in unloading all merchandise from delivery trucks, organizes merchandise, and transfers merchandise from stockroom to store. Collaborates with team members to ensure the store meets or exceeds the established merchandising standards for product quality, presentation, and visual marketing/merchandising. Maintains reporting to support sales, earnings, and minimizing shrink. Assumes full management responsibility in the absence of the Store Manager. Qualifications Two (2) or more years of grocery or retail management experience. Hands‑on leadership experience in grocery retail (e.g., Produce, Deli/Bakery, or Meat/Seafood departments) is highly preferred but not required. Physical requirement: Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting above shoulder height. Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma / Equivalent. Successfully pass pre-employment checks, including a drug screen and criminal background check. Valid driver's license and safe driving record per GFS policy.
