In this role, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance of our fleet, which includes heavy-duty diesel trucks, CNG, gas, and electrically operated equipment. Steady, recession proof work for skilled mechanics.Starting Pay: up to $35/hr (Pay Will Increase Based on EXP/Qualifications)Starting Shift: 2pm-12am M-F. Working on Refuse Trucks. OT after 40hrs!Benefits:-15 days of paid time off -Monthly Tool Allowance -Annual Boot Reimbursement -Overtime after 40hrs worked -401K after 6 months employment -Health Benefits after 60 daysThis is a boots on the ground tool in hand position!## Key Responsibilities* **Diagnostics & Repair:** Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy-duty diesel trucks, hydraulics, and specialized waste/recycling equipment.* **Fleet Maintenance:** Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on heavy diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles.* **Planning & Scheduling:** Plan and schedule repairs using the **M5 planner** system, ensuring all necessary parts are procured for a successful maintenance plan.* **Administrative Duties:** Accurately complete daily reports, work orders, parts orders, and other required administrative tasks.* **Safety & Compliance:** Ensure all work is performed in safe conditions and in strict compliance with federal, state/provincial, local laws, and company safety policies.* **Collaboration & Training:** Assist in reviewing mechanical write-ups on equipment, coordinate repair schedules, and aid in the training and orientation of new team members.* **Tool Maintenance:** Possess, provide, and maintain the personal hand and power tools necessary to perform heavy equipment maintenance, while keeping a clean and organized work area.## Job Requirements* **Education:** High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); a technical diploma or degree in diesel mechanics is highly desired.* **Experience:** Minimum of **one (1) year** of experience working as a diesel mechanic.* **Technical Skills:** Computer literacy is required, with the ability to be trained on specialized software systems (experience with diagnostic software is a major plus).* **Safety Screenings:** Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.* **Language:** Ability to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English.## Physical Demands & Working Conditions* **Physical Effort:** Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/push/pull up to **100 pounds**. Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention is necessary.* **Environment:** Frequently exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, vibration, hot/cold weather conditions, and toxic or caustic chemicals/fumes.
