Maintenance Engineer

Job Title

Supervises general building maintenance and janitorial functions. Responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner consistent with all applicable safety procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

Essential duties include:

• Overseeing daily work of maintenance technicians.
• Touring the site daily, reporting and resolving any problems that may put the infrastructure at risk. Directing maintenance staff to resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner.
• Assisting contracted vendors with preventative maintenance program, troubleshooting, and modification.
• Operating diagnostic equipment as directed and complying with the manufacturers' recommendations.
• Determining the status of diagnosed equipment and advising of corrective actions.
• Maintaining records of maintenance checks and repairs.
• Assisting in reviewing and reporting of incidents.
• Working with facilities staff in providing support.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills, education, and experience include:

• Bachelor's degree plus professional certification (e.g., CFM) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years facilities maintenance supervisory/management experience, preferably in commercial real estate.
• Ability to work well with a variety of different individuals both inside and outside of Newmark.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Position requires a minimal amount of supervision while also adhering to the policies and procedures and owner objectives.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions.
