Urologist Job Requirements

• Physician specializing in Urology
• Board certification or board eligibility through the American Board of Urology or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery-Urological Surgery
• Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited urology residency or fellowship, or equivalent foreign training
• Current Michigan physician license
• Current Michigan Controlled Substance license and DEA registration
• ACLS certification
• Demonstrated recent procedural experience, including at least 50 urological procedures within the past 12 months, or successful completion of an accredited residency or clinical fellowship within the past 12 months
• Required clinical skills include general adult urology, laparoscopic surgery, ureteroscopy, renal and bladder ultrasound with biopsy, transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsies, and fertility evaluations
• Experience with pediatric urology, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, robotic surgery, and incontinence procedures is preferred

Urology Physician Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient urology evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
• Perform scheduled urological procedures in the operating room
• Conduct clinic visits and manage approximately 20 patient encounters per shift
• Perform and interpret appropriate urological diagnostic evaluations and procedures
• Deliver care across general urology, laparoscopic surgery, ureteroscopy, ultrasound-guided biopsy, and related services
• Collaborate with clinical staff to support safe, efficient, and patient-centered care
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and comply with credentialing and privileging requirements
