Experienced Accountant OpportunitySEMO Tank has an immediate opening for an experienced Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll support a variety of accounting functions, including monthly financial reporting, general ledger activities, account reconciliations, lease administration, budgeting, fixed assets, expense allocations, and financial analysis. We're looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working collaboratively, solving problems, and using financial information to help drive business decisions.SEMO Tank is part of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a farmer-owned dairy cooperative. SEMO Tank specializes in the sale, lease, repair, and maintenance of tank trailers and provides a broad inventory of related parts. Joining SEMO Tank gives you the opportunity to contribute to a specialized business while being part of the larger DFA organization.Our Accountants enjoy competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including:Up to 144 hours of paid time off during your first year of employmentUp to 32 hours of sick time during your first yearMedical, Dental, and Vision benefits effective the first of the month following your start date401(k) with company match effective immediatelyAs an Accountant, you will:Participate in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial results, including drafting internal financial statements, preparing account reconciliations, and recording journal entries and reclassifications as neededPrepare lease contracts for tank-trailer customers, ensuring contracts are completed accurately and on time while maintaining effective communication with customers and internal partnersSupport SEMO management throughout the fixed asset procurement processMaintain accurate fixed asset documentation and reporting in accordance with company policiesPartner with inventory personnel to enter cycle counts, record inventory adjustments, and prepare reports related to inventory activityAssist with the annual budgeting process and monthly budget-to-actual analysisSupport expense allocation processes at both the location and departmental levelsCreate, update, and maintain key business metrics for timely distribution to management, helping support business analysis and decision-makingDemonstrate the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, sound judgment, and professionalismPerform other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking For:Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience required7+ years of progressive accounting experience preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience with SAP or a similar ERP system; SAP experience is highly preferredStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingAbility to effectively prioritize, plan, and organize workloadStrong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and qualityAbility to review and monitor your own work to ensure accuracyProfessional and approachable communication style when working with customers, vendors, management, and other team membersAbility to read, write, and speak English*The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties and skills required.Ready to Make an Impact?If you're an accounting professional who enjoys variety, collaboration, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on business operations, we'd love to hear from you.
