Field Service Representative - Industrial Drives

Job Summary Industry Services Field Service Representatives collaborate with customers, sales representatives, team members, and third‑party partners to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment across a variety of dynamic environments. They typically perform warranty work, startup/commissioning of Schneider Variable Frequency Drives, testing and calibration of equipment, and provide technical support and on‑site audits. This is a home‑based position with a flexible work schedule and a guaranteed 40‑hour week, plus overtime when required. Responsibilities Servicing, installing, and repairing customer equipment. Performance of warranty work and start‑up service. Perform startup/commissioning on Schneider Variable Frequency Drives. Testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting and part component replacement services on customer drive products. Construction and testing of circuits and equipment using tools such as workstations, circuit diagrams, and test instruments. Technical support in product service, product training, and applications including on‑site audits. Support for Schneider equipment such as electrical switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, BMS systems, PLCs, HMIs, drives, power monitoring equipment, and protective relays. Document all required information for each site (technical report). Additional Duties (when required) Analyze complex problems in equipment and machinery, using maintenance manuals and systems/electronics knowledge to isolate faults. Assist in designing modifications, implementing them and providing installation support. Develop and deliver training courseware to customers and service representatives. Travel for training and job‑site support. Qualifications Vocational education, military training, or transferable experience in electronics, electrical theory, or a related discipline. 2+ years of relevant mechanical, electrical, or power distribution service experience and technical proficiency in electronic/electrical component theory. Experience with Variable Frequency Drives. Experience writing reports and presenting information to managers, clients, and customers. Ability to perform calculations such as percentages, proportions, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Experience in testing, maintenance and/or upgrades in low or medium voltage switchgear, transformers, relay protection systems, or control systems. Skill to interpret blueprints and other service documents, including electrical drawings. Capacity to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
