Pharmacy Technician

Location: Hematology & Oncology Associates of Fredericksburg Pay Range: $22.48 - $39.53 Position Overview Hematology Oncology Associates of Fredericksburg (HOAF) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our oncology practice through medication preparation, inventory management, and coordination of specialty pharmaceutical needs. Position Summary Maintains ordering and stocking of medications and supplies in the clinic. Under supervision of licensed healthcare professional, prepares and mixes medications. Coordinates with drug sales representatives and pharmaceutical companies for samples, teaching aids, and compassionate drugs. Acts as liaison between physicians, nursing, pharmacy supervisor, and purchasing in obtaining special order medications. Key Performance Areas Medication Preparation & Dispensing: Prepare and mix chemotherapy drugs and solutions under supervision, maintain proficiency with the Nucleus system, review orders with nursing staff. Inventory, Supply, and Equipment Management: Order, stock, and track medical supplies; perform maintenance of chemotherapy hoods; manage ambulatory pump documentation; handle biohazardous waste disposal. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Maintain records for compassionate drug programs, clinical trials, and biohazard waste; ensure compliance with federal/state laws, privacy regulations, OSHA standards, and policies. Training & Collaboration: Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and nursing staff; collaborate with nurses, physicians, supervisors, and representatives. Operational Flexibility & Professional Responsibilities: Support operations across multiple locations; work overtime as needed; participate in mandatory meetings and annual Safety/OSHA training. Position Qualifications Education PTCB Certification or Registered as Pharmacy Technician required (per state regulations). Minimum Relevant Experience Minimum of three years in healthcare, preferably clinical pharmacy technician. Willingness to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings and training sessions. Certifications/Licenses Valid State Driver's License for travel to clinics. #J-18808-Ljbffr
