GIS Technician

Fiber Network Gis TechnicianWe're hiring a GIS Technician who will be responsible for maintaining and updating GIS and system-of-record data supporting fiber optic network infrastructure. This role is responsible for creating and editing spatial datasets from CAD, GPS, and as-built documentation, performing quality control, producing maps, and supporting engineering, construction, and utility locating (811/One Call) needs.What You'll Do:Maintain and manage GIS databases and spatial data supporting fiber optic network infrastructure, incorporating field survey data, as-builts, and legacy recordsCreate, edit, and update spatial datasets using CAD drawings, GPS/mobile field data, maps, sketches, splice documentation, and field notesMaintain accurate fiber network records including routes, circuits, splice details, and asset documentation within system-of-record platforms (e.g., Vetro)Apply established data standards and quality control procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of GIS datasetsAnalyze and interpret utility maps, field imagery, photographs, schematics, and tabular data to support network documentation and project needsOther duties as assignedWhat We're Looking For:Associate Degree in GIS or equivalent industry experience2+ years of experience in drafting preferred2+ years of experience with interpreting utility, topographic, street or profile mapsExperience with GIS softwareWorking knowledge of splicing documents/splice matrix's preferredValid driver's license and must be insurableLocation: Temporarily based in Wauwatosa, WI (moving to Glendale, WI upon completion of renovations)Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short & Long-Term Disability, 401(k) with company match, generous PTO starting day one, paid holidays, referral bonuses, and more.AA/EEO Drug Testing Employer
