Position Summary The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned daily. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead oversees associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in a manner aligned with company service and cost objectives. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality and to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Training Responsibilities Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities to help meet customer demands. Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control. Assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates. Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, stacking of product, and picking/staging of outbound shipments; verify inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure proper counts. Load orders efficiently and accurately according to doors and trailers. Process all shipping/receiving/picking functions per Standard Operating Procedures. Research discrepancies in the shipping and receiving process. Customer Service Conduct yourself professionally in appearance and communications. Communicate with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person as needed. Prepare required activity reports accurately for site management. Quality Control Ensure product and orders are received/shipped correctly and accurately picked using appropriate documentation. Verify products meet quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, and handle packaging, labeling, and shrink wrap as required. Adhere to SOPs for quality control and report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Manager; participate in quality meetings. Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance Comply with ISO standards relevant to this position and department. Execute all safety protocols and maintain a clean warehouse environment. Follow SOPs, corporate/site policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards. Participate in safety meetings. Labor Management Direct warehouse work team to achieve objectives; assist in productivity reporting and payroll hours. Maintain appropriate staffing levels and assist in establishing work schedules; ensure schedules are implemented effectively. Work with the Operations Supervisor to ensure proper handling of products according to quality procedures and guidelines. Responsibility and Authority Participate in department meetings and take action to prevent or address non-conformities related to product, process, and quality systems. Report non-conformities immediately to the Quality Department. Equipment Operation Operate equipment such as sit-down/stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, sweepers, scrubbers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, AisleMaster, pallet jacks, etc. Maintain equipment and report problems; inspect and perform minor maintenance daily; operate equipment safely and efficiently; maintain active forklift certification. Maintenance Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned. Other Duties May perform clerical/administrative tasks as guided by site management. Willing to work evenings and weekends; overtime as needed; perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None Minimum Required Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; 1 year of experience in a logistics/distribution environment; ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE); ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations: Forklift training certification. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions. Language Skills: English reading, writing, and verbal. Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate level for quantities, inventory, and handling tasks. Other: Strong attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, effective communication, adaptability, and fast-paced environment tolerance. Preferred Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in warehouse/logistics/distribution. 2-4 years of forklift experience; MHE certification. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
