ICU Registered NurseThe position involves caring for critically ill patients in an ICU setting. Responsibilities include monitoring patients with telemetry, administering drips, and providing BiPAP and ventilator support. The nurse will also manage arterial lines and perform suctioning as needed. Patient-to-nurse ratio is expected to be 1 nurse for every 2 patients. Weekend shifts are required, every other weekend. Floating to other units is not required. The role requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with interdisciplinary support services is essential for optimal patient care. The unit manages patients with various diagnoses including pneumonia, sepsis, and post-surgical recovery. Special equipment used includes central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and ventilators. The ICU is a 4-bed unit where patient acuity can vary significantly. Travelers may be expected to float to nearby facilities if necessary. The organization supports infection prevention and follows strict isolation precautions. Candidates should have experience with managing patients with multi-system organ dysfunction and failure.
