Accounts Receivable Accountant

$24 - $32 per hour

Under direct supervision, the Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant is responsible for receiving and posting payments, reviewing ledgers, and correcting discrepancies to ensure accounts are accurate and properly stated. This role supports the Finance team by maintaining detailed records, assisting with reconciliations, and contributing to the overall accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial reporting. Required Qualifications Education and Experience 4-yeardegree in accounting (or2-yeardegree with one to two years ofrelevant experience). At least 2years’ experiencein a similar role, particularly with multi-entity, multi-bankaccountcompany. Experience using Microsoft Office, with emphasisonExcel. Experience working within an ERP system. Strong math, typing, 10-key, computerskills. Strong critical thinking skillset. Essential Job Functions Post monthlysubsidyand rent charges. Update lease charges in Yardi from NoticeOfChange (NOC) documentation. Post receipts toappropriate entityaccount(s). Prepare receipts for bankdeposit. Deposit checksand postjournalentries for check deposits. Post monthly late fees. Prepare monthly demand letters for use by Property Management (PM). Print and mail out maintenance notice letters Researching and resolving account discrepanciesbyreviewing ZDR, subsidy suspense, and GPRI Make ledger adjustments. Respond to any inquiries. Assistwith bank reconciliation issues. Process any refunds/return of funds. Assistwith bad debts/write offs,to includeaccounts turned over to collections. Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records areaccurateand complete. Generatingreports/metrics for internal use. Manage relatedaccountsreceivablefunctions. Otheraccounting-relatedtasks, as delegated. Regular, predictable, in-personattendance is an essential function of this position. Maintainsa high levelof professionalism and integrity; listens to questions and concerns, evaluates issues andpossible solutions, works collaboratively with the Boulder Housing Partners team to address systemic problems; inspires confidence and respect; uses feedback from others to grow and develop. Takes proper safety precautions,anticipatesunsafe circumstances, andactsaccordingly to prevent accidents. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment.Usesall required safety equipment andfollowsall safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Reports all accidents and damage to BHP property. Actively supports and upholds BHP’sstatedmission and values.Optimizesthe use ofresources;responsible for knowing andcomplying withall BHP policies. Participates in professional training anddevelopment;and adheres to attendance and workplace attire policies. Chain of Supervision TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Accounting Manager TITLE(S) OF POSITION(S) OVER WHICH THIS POSITION HAS DIRECT SUPERVISION: N/A Machines and Equipment Used in Work Personal computer/laptop, printer, telephone, facsimile machine, photocopy machine and calculator. Working Conditions Physical Demands: This position works in an office setting and is primarily sedentary, requiring the individual to sit for 8 or more hours per day. Work involves frequent use of hands and eyes for computer operation, data entry, and office equipment; vision to read, record, and interpret information; and verbal and auditory abilities to communicate with employees, vendors, and residents. The role may occasionally involve lifting and carrying materials up to 30 pounds, walking short distances, or standing for brief periods. Mental and cognitive demands include attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving, meeting deadlines, and handling multiple priorities. Work Environment: Work is performed at a desk in a clean, comfortable, and generally quiet office environment, with frequent computer use and regular interaction with staff and community partners. Occasional interruptions and deadlines are part of the work.
