With a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement, they are seeking an experienced machinist who takes pride in producing quality parts and knows their way around traditional machine shop equipment.Key responsibilities include:Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment to manufacture and repair precision components.Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work instructions.Machine parts to specified dimensions, tolerances, and finishes using appropriate tooling and machining techniques.Determine proper speeds, feeds, tooling, workholding, and machining sequences based on materials and job requirements.Perform layouts, setups, and machining operations with minimal supervision.Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and other inspection tools to verify dimensional accuracy.Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet applicable drawings, tolerances, and quality requirements.Perform one-off, prototype, repair, and small-batch machining as required.Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to tooling, setups, and processes to maintain quality and productivity.Maintain machines, tooling, fixtures, and work areas to ensure safe and reliable operation.Perform routine machine maintenance and promptly report equipment or tooling concerns.Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and complete jobs efficiently.Maintain accurate records of completed work, measurements, materials, and other required production information.Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized machine shop environment.Qualifications include:High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.Previous experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar precision machining position.Hands-on experience operating manual mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and related machine shop equipment.Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.Working knowledge of GD&T is preferred.Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, materials, speeds, feeds, and workholding methods.Ability to independently set up equipment and determine appropriate machining sequences.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a manufacturing team.Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.What we offer:Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. $24-$29 hourly DOE.Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and paid time off.Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.A stable, team-oriented manufacturing environment.The opportunity to work on challenging machining projects where craftsmanship and technical ability are valued.A workplace committed to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and manufacturing excellence.At Legacy Talent Search, we are more than just a staffing agency.
