Travel Stepdown Nurse (RN) in Bessemer City, NC

Stepdown Registered Nurses play a vital role in monitoring and caring for patients who require close observation and advanced nursing skills as they recover from critical illness or surgery. In this contract position, you will provide skilled nursing care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.


Qualifications & Experience:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Previous experience in stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry units required
• Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment
• Proficient in interpreting cardiac monitors and managing drips
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current)
• Excellent communication abilities and a team-oriented approach
• Ability to adapt quickly to new protocols and patient populations

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage complex drips
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding care plans
• Provide patient and family education, offering compassionate support throughout the recovery process
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient safety at all times
• Engage in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and emergencies
