MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN# MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIANHot JobMain Hospital - Los Angeles, CA 90026## OverviewSalary Range$33.91 - $35.98 Hourly## Description**JOB DESCRIPTION**Title of Position: Mental Health Clinician Location: Main Hospital Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Union/ Non-Union: Union Supervisor: Director of Psychology and Social Services **SUMMARY OF POSITION**Primary responsibilities of the Mental Health Social Worker (MHSW) on the adult/adolescent impatient units are the ability to complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment, execute appropriate discharge planning, and to provide individual, family and group therapies. The MHSW plays a critical role as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, ensuring that patient care is trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally responsive. This position requires advanced clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to patient advocacy and community reintegration.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES*** Working knowledge of mental status examinations and current diagnostic manual.* Knowledge of psychiatric mental health theories and practices.* Individual and group treatment with clients who present a variety of psychopathologies.* Ability to function as primary therapist and member of multidisciplinary treatment team.* Ability to accurately observe and document treatment sessions.* Knowledge and understanding of human relationships.* Ability to work and relate effectively with visitors, police, and community members.* Ability to accurately assess statements and behaviors of clients for evidence of antisocial behavior.* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.* Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, both verbally and in writing.* Performs other additional tasks as directed.## Qualifications**EDUCATION & CERTIFICATES*** Masters (MFT, PCC, MSW) or Doctorate in Psychology (PhD, PsyD)* License-Eligible/Licensed Clinician with the California Board of Psychology/California Board of Behavioral Sciences.* Forensic Emphasis from an accredited institution desired.**EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS*** Experience providing group and individual treatment* Treatment and diagnostic skills utilizing the DMS IV/V.* Experience with severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse, and assessing dangerous/violent behaviors.* Experience with preparation of written client evaluations.* Experience with the mentally ill and/or forensic populations.* Experience in a mental health, correctional, or similar forensic agency, providing individual and group therapy desired.**REQUIREMENTS*** Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance.* Valid California Driver’s license.* TB clearance.* Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier.As you consider taking the next step in your career, these are some of the exciting and competitive benefits we offer:* Student loan forgiveness qualifying employee* Medical and dental insurance* PTO for vacation, sick time, bereavement, and personal holidays* Bilingual bonus pay, when applicable* Work alongside a talented, collaborative, and compassionate interdisciplinary team* Receive professional development support from a supportive management team, and more! #J-18808-Ljbffr Gateways Hospital
